Have you thought about how, every day, you add chapters to your career’s book?

Guillermina Méndez’s story at ALFA started in 1999. During the 8th semester of her bachelors’ in Law, a teacher asked her if she’d like to do an internship in the company and she said yes.

After a year in the same area where she started her internship, it goes through a restructuring phase. Her boss, the then and now Legal and Corporate Affairs Senior VP, Carlos Jiménez, asked her if she’d like to stay in the company and switch departments. With her degree under her belt, Guille decided to stay.

That’s how she left her role as an intern behind and entered the big leagues, and into another chapter in her story: her professional experience grew exponentially in the following years, getting into topics she would have never imagined. Guille recognizes that her boss has been key in her trajectory, from the minute she stepped foot in ALFA and until now.

“What I’ve learned, it’s been thanks to the company and especially my boss, who always made me part of activities where different aspects were discussed and negotiated. That’s how I learned about things before it was my responsibility to actually do them”.

Years later, a new chapter comes into play: Guille becomes a mom of three wonderful children. Thanks to her boss’ support and that ALFA modernized itself, she could keep working without leaving her job.

The answer Guille has found throughout the company has been one of solidarity. In return, she has always answered with efficiency and resolution. This partnership has always been beneficial to both sides of the equation.

Today, 19 years later, dedication is still a key ingredient in Guille’s story, who looks for balance between family and work, with her eye on achieving objectives and staying in constant success.

We always have to be proactive, give a little extra and leave our mark”.
