The secret of being constant and persistent depends on how you want to see things. You’re always going to face problems at work, in daily life, right?
It’s like swimming, you’re in the middle of the sea you can’t just start crying,
you have to move forward and find the way to get out of there.

Axtel’s culture is one of constant change. We started out as a long-distance company and now we are the second company of ICT services in Mexico.
It’s a transformation that spans the company’s 22-year history. The biggest challenge, the one that has demanded the most resilience from me as well, has been the process of integration of the two companies: Alestra and Axtel.

Changes that I wasn’t expecting came through. These changes were very demanding for the team as well, and it was like: You change today, you go over there and start again somewhere else.

Everyone had to adapt towards the same objective. Many times our ego doesn’t allow us to hear what others are telling us, and they’re giving us the solution.
You have to be open to listen to others, you have to be flexible against adversity.

Sometimes you trace your path and it leads you somewhere else. When I entered this company, I came to work on data services and I ended up in voice services, and I didn’t know anything about it. And now I’m here. You have to face it and learn.

At the end, you work and you go back to your path, and you keep going towards your objective. As Viktor Frankl says: Everyone is free and responsible for their attitude towards certain circumstances.

The great lesson is: never surrender. If you give it time, you put the passion and you surround yourself with people that can help you, you’re going to be fine.
