Feedback, constructive criticism, such fear surrounding these words. Hearing “it’s time for your feedback” can be enough to turn your stomach into knots. But… does it really have to be that way? Do we really need to feel such fear when others talk about us or our work?

Of course not! With this issue, we’ll change that mindset and you’ll see feedback as another part of life. Plain and simple, an everyday occurrence, that we can give without ceremony or without scheduling a meeting. Because, after all, it is basic, common and simple.

It’s a chat where someone else, with your development in mind, gives you the tools you need to be better. Feedback is a way to see the gaps in our processes, in our results. With it, others let us know about potential improvements. That’s right: not our mistakes or our deficiencies, but potential improvements.

Yes, we’re all scared of critique and, sometimes, simply thinking about an evaluation can make our blood curl. But, think about it, if you don’t know your areas of opportunity, how can you be better than before?

In this issue of ALFA Live, you’ll learn how to give feedback in three simple steps with Sigma; Alpek shows us feedback’s technological side; Axtel invites us to see things with a 360º perspective; Nemak goes beyond traditional feedback; ALFA Runners listen to their bodies to be better; ALFA Foundation’s teachers listen to silence; and we practice what we preach by opening a forum for you to tell us how we’re doing at ALFA Live.
